Finance Specialist / Bookkeeper

FOVNDRY, an integrated communications agency, seeks a seasoned Finance Specialist / Bookkeeper to join our N. Bethesda, MD (Rockville) team. This is a part-time role, up to 15 hours per week; hybrid in-office / remote. The ideal candidate is a seasoned, meticulous financial professional with a proven ability to manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions (A/P, A/R, payroll, invoicing) and conduct corresponding forecasting and reporting; is fluent in applicable platforms / software programs such as QuickBooks, ADP, and Microsoft Excel; and is looking to contribute to and grow with our team. Candidates must agree to undergo a background check. An understanding of financial management specifically for professional services organizations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor day-to-day A/R and A/P, including accurate and timely invoicing, vendor payment, and payroll
  • Post and track agency expenses, ensuring alignment with appropriate tax categories
  • Monitor and analyze cash flow and budgets
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
  • Continually seek training and education in new skills and tools related to your work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 7+ years of experience in a professional business setting providing accounting and/or financial management, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable information
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Fluency in applicable platforms / software programs such as QuickBooks, ADP, and Microsoft Excel
  • Professionalism and confidentiality is paramount
  • Financial management specifically for professional services organizations a plus
