A Little Maryland History

Since 2011, FOVNDRY (formerly Van Eperen) has been the PR & Marketing agency of record for Maryland Municipal League (MML), which provides public information and educational support strategies and tactics to the 157 municipalities across the state. As the association’s tag-team partner, FOVNDRY proudly fights alongside MML to amplify the value and collective good of these towns and cities, while helping to protect their local authority at the state level.

Capabilities without Boundaries

From developing videos and PSAs on Highway-User Revenues to writing press releases and coordinating interviews for the “If I Were Mayor, I Would…” Contest (encouraging civic engagement), FOVNDRY also conducts strategic outreach to promote and secure ad placements in MML publications and platforms. Additional year-round support includes the content creation and overall promotion of their summer and fall conferences. Two major events that are crucial for city and town officials to attend.

The Show Must Go On

Traditionally, municipal leaders from all 23 counties would congregate in Ocean City, MD for their annual summer conference. However, in 2020, the pandemic had other plans.

With so many important topics to discuss and so many timely issues to resolve, the opportunity to connect face to face and share key strategies couldn’t be missed. MML and FOVNDRY had to bring the beach to them. Shifting and putting together a virtual online event in just a few short months was a Poseidon-sized effort to say the least, but it gave a whole new meaning to original theme: Reimagine Tomorrow. The sharing of ideas and responsibilities helped forge an even “Stronger Together” relationship between client and agency, as FOVNDRY took the lead to:

  • Create the visual look and feel of the 2020 MML Summer Conference
  • Plan and execute all content and graphics for social posts and emails
  • Script, produce, direct, and animate multiple award videos
  • Draft news releases and coordinate media outreach

Let’s Keep a Good Thing Going

With the overwhelming success of the 2020 summer campaign, and with the vaccine now readily available, it’s time to go back to the beach—as a hybrid event—with the option to attend in person or online. FOVNDRY’s proposed themeline for the 2021 MML Summer Conference, “Tackling every issue. Under the sun.” brings together two things that are seemingly on opposite ends of the spectrum: SERIOUS (the many challenges of our times) and FUN (collaborating in OC to solve them). City and town officials, along with hundreds of sponsors and exhibitors, couldn’t be more excited to reconnect, share ideas, solve challenges, and, yes, have a few laughs. After a year like that, it’s still the best medicine.
